LNG Shipping Fuel Stream
The International Maritime Organisation’s (IMO) imminent regulations to reduce sulphur and nitrogen oxide emissions are compelling the maritime industry to turn towards LNG fuel to such an extent that experts predict that LNG will be the dominant shipping fuel by 2050. However, despite LNG’s promise, there still remains the need to address design, infrastructure, safety and environmental issues to ensure LNG will be a commercially viable fuel for vessels.
The LNG Shipping Fuel Centres of Technical Excellence (CoTEs) Stream will delve into the recent burst of activity in this innovative sector and investigate cutting-edge technological development that will help secure LNG’s place as the mainstream marine fuel of the future.
